MACS (MAGNETIC ACTIVATED CELL SORTING)
MACS® ART Annexin V System was designed to selectively remove defective, although morphologically indistinguishable cells from sperm preparations. After magnetic labeling of the damaged sperm cells, they are then passed through a separation column where they are selectively retained. Intact living spermatozoa without DNA fragmentation pass through the column and are collected for later use (IUI, IVF, PICSI, ICSI, IMSI).
The direct gain of the sperm ready for fertilization represents the key advantage over traditional DNA fragmentation tests in which the patient obtains only information on the percentage of damaged cells.
